Mission Statement

Clan Jaguar is committed to bringing together individuals of varying and diverse backgrounds into a cohesive community whose purpose is to cultivate and enhance the enjoyment of Runescape for one and all.

Towards that end, these rules and guidelines were derived with the following three goals in mind: bringing the clan together and quelling divisions, facilitating the integration of new members into the clan at large, and emphasizing the health of the community above all else.

crules - frules - member - events - ranks - war - ally - infra
  •
  • You may under no reason challenge another clan to a war under Clan Jaguar's name. This is only to be done by the Leaders or War Leader.
  • You cannot attack/lure fellow clan members and doing so on purpose could result in an immediate boot (killing them is even worse :)). You may also not do anything that will lower the reputation of Clan Jaguar in any way.
  • Attacking allied members knowingly is prohibited. If you are caught doing so you will be booted. If attacked by an ally the council requires proof before action can be taken. Without proof (preferably a screen shot) the council cannot do anything for your case.
  •
  • You must follow all of the rules put in place by Jagex for RuneScape to continue to be in this clan. (Exempt is sharing our clan website, swearing, going on other people's accounts outside of the clan. People accessing your account or going on a fellow clan mates is still strictly prohibited.)
  •
  • If found out that you reported a fellow clan mate for something petty (ie: advertising our website, or cursing) and they get temp-banned or temp-muted, you will be given a suspension.
  •
  • We have a strict policy for excessive trolling/flaming.
  • There is a distinctive line between friendly trolling and excessive trolling. Friendly trolling is when all parties involved can appreciate the troll and excessive trolling comes close to bullying.
  • As a member of Clan Jaguar you are also responsible for the atmosphere in the cc/fc/ts. You are expected to contribute to a positive atmosphere, so keep the following guidelines in mind:
  •
  • Tread lightly, keep the other person's feelings in mind.
  • Don't intentionally exclude people.
  • When you see trolling get out of hand, say something about it! Even if you're not the victim! Don't forget to take screenshots and send them to a council member/leader.
  • When you've been told to stop, you must stop. Ignoring warnings can lead to being temporary kicked from the cc, council will be reviewing your case, and will decide over your fate.
  •
  • To enlist in Clan Jaguar, the member must post in "New Jaguar" board (Applications Forum), using the format provided. Recruits will be made a trial member after a period of 24 hours, trial members lasts for a period of 1 month then will be voted on by Clan Jaguar members. Recruits must agree to follow this CoC to join the clan.
  •
  • You may not spam in our forums by posting multiple copies of the same post on the same or in different forums. There is a spam area (Spam/Games) for this kind of posting. You may also not attempt to 'bump' your post to the top of the list by posting something pointless in a post just to raise it up in the lists of posts on the forum. Use the BUMP Button for this!
  •
  • Excessive flaming will not be tolerated! When one of the leaders has asked you to discontinue an argument the discussion must end immediately. Disruptive behavior that doesn't constitute flaming will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
  • Criticism is always welcome, but only if it is constructive! We live and die by the virtues of tact:
  •
  • tact - noun
    1. A keen sense of what to say or do to avoid giving offense; skill in dealing with difficult or delicate situations.
    2. A keen sense of what is appropriate, tasteful, or aesthetically pleasing; taste; discrimination.Any post made in such a way that it can INCITE an argument or flaming has potential to be [and we reserve the right to have it] removed.
  •
  • Signatures should be no bigger then 300px in height (total height of sig) by 760px in width (must not stretch the forums (1024 x 768 resolution))
  • 1 line of text (default size) is around 10 pixels high. NOTE: If you have multiple lines then you have to count 5 pixels extra, between each line of text!
  • No distasteful sigs.
  •
  • Max resolution of 200px width by 300px height, can not be bigger then 25kb in file size and must have a file extension of gif, jpg, jpeg, png. Avatars must not stretch the forums in any way. This site is to be viewed in minimum 1024 x 768 resolution.
  •
  • Member conflicts should be kept off the forum and taken to pm. People should also not discuss personal real life circumstances of other members without permission or unless merited by the specific topic.
  • If conflict becomes too out of hand, please PM a council member with proof of what is occurring or, or use the Contact Council forum.
  •
  • When posting a “leaving the clan” post for the first time, individuals will be given 24 hours to reconsider before being removed.
  • In all subsequent leaving posts, individuals will be removed immediately. This is true regardless of whether you withdrew your post the first time or you have quit and rejoin. The goal is to cut down on the drama of leaving the clan and reduce the amount of “give me attention” quit posts.
  • Individuals needing to get away from the game for a while, for whatever reason (school, military service, temporary lapse in enjoyment of runescape), should utilize the “Leave of Absence” forum and make a post detailing how long they will be gone and why. This will make them immune to activity checks for the duration. (We tend to give a longer LOA for military service so don't worry if you feel like you wont be able to update us.)
  • Please note that if you give us a specific date of your return, we will honor it for the duration so long as it is reasonable. You can’t, for example, take a year off to focus on Call of Duty. Anything related to real life circumstances is generally accepted (work, school, etc.)
  • For indefinite leaves of absence due to boredom or lack of any real reason, you will be given a month to update us on your LOA. After a month, you will be subject to activity checks once again.
  • People sent to inactive rank will be given 5 days to post in the inactive section before getting kicked from clan chat (via the 5 days grace period) You can do this a maximum of 3 times before being denied for a month. For more info on the 5 days grace period click HERE. We make exepetions in unavoidable circumstances.
  • The goal in strict enforcement of leaving and LOA is to keep a firm grasp of our active base, and to limit the amount of judgment calls on who is around, who isn’t, who deserves to be here, who doesn’t, etc etc. The idea is to allow for real life circumstances (which, of course, are priority) and objectivity while limiting free loaders.
  •
  • Members are expected to treat others with respect and as they themselves would want to be treated.
  • Specific groups of people in the clan are not to be emphasized as more important than others, to demean others, nor to exist as a separate but defined entity within Clan Jaguar. The goal is to reduce and eliminate division within the community.
  • These rules apply, but are not limited, to:
  •
  • Social Media
  • Teamspeak
  • Forums
  • Friends Chats
  • Clan Chat
  •
  • Under no circumstances will members be permitted to harass other members whether it be in jest or not. This can range from sexual harassment, to applying pressure to make people attend an event they do not want to.
  •
  • Self explanatory. Threats will not be permitted.
  •
  • It is strongly recommended you follow all the rules put in place by Jagex, and the council reserves the right to take according action if this is not the case. (Exempt is foul language and account sharing outside of the clan, anyone account sharing within the clan or another entity has access to your account is strictly prohibited.)
  •
  • According action will be taken if other parts of this document are violated.
  •
  • There will be periodic, activity checks so please remain active. To remain active you must:
  •
  • Get at least SIX (6) events points every month.
  •
  • The process of gaining membership to Clan Jaguar begins with registering an account on these forums. After verifying their account through email, hopeful recruits should post an application in the “New Jaguar” forum using the format that appears when you click “Start New Topic”. Within 24 hours, barring any hiccups (such as members providing unfavorable information about past dealings with said recruit), the recruit will be admitted to the Trial rank. At the end of trial, the recruit will be voted on by members of the Clan (Knight+) as to whether they should be granted admission as a full member. More information on the trial and Trial process can be found HERE.
  • If you do not pass the activity check done before the vote, you will be set to inactive and given 5 days before being kicked from cc (via the 5 days grace period) Post in the inactive section to re-do trial again, the maximum time for re-doing trial is 3 although you will have to be approved by council to re-do trial. If you are denied you must wait a period of 1 month. For more info on the 5 days grace period click HERE.
  •
  • If the person quit:
  •
  • Does NOT require council vote, barring any prevailing circumstances which require Council's attention.
  • Cannot obtain a higher role (Event Coordinator, Recruitment Team, Council, Leader, KOTR) until they have been in the clan a period of 3 months, and have had no negative altercations.
  •
  • Requires Council vote to rejoin if he/she tries to rejoin.
  • Cannot obtain higher role for a period of 4 months
  • If more than two rejoins, it will be evaluated on a case to case basis
  •
  • Post within the INACTIVE forum and a Council member will change you to a Trial Member and you will have to redo your trial.
  •
  • Can reapply 3 months after the boot occurs, can only be accepted pending a Council vote.
  • If denied you must wait another time period allotted by Council.
  •
  • Punishments loosely follow the 3 strikes system. The first strike is an official warning. The second strike is a suspension, amount of time varies on a case-to-case basis. The third strike results in removal from the clan.
  • When a member commits an offense worthy of mention in council forums, we assign a black mark to the member. After 3 black marks, or three notable offenses, the member is removed from the clan. If the member has committed no prior offense, we will usually just give a warning before giving them a black mark. Black marks are just an in-council system of keeping track of offenses, and you likely won't hear about them except for here in the CoC (or in council). Sometimes offenses are severe such that they merit a boot even without any prior offense. Offenses under this category can be sexual harassment, hacking or stealing the items of another member.
  •
  • Event Attendance is NEVER mandatory. It does reflect badly, however, upon individuals who habitually pass on events when they are available. You can't necessarily be kicked, but it can result in being moved to inactive if you fail the activity checks.
  •
  • ANYONE can host events. However, there are protocol for doing so. Event hosts (outside of ECs) must do the following:
  •
  • Make sure the time they have chosen is clear of obstruction
  • Make sure events are at least one hour apart from each other
  • Make a post with adequate details such as time and date, place of meeting, the type of event, and what people will be required to bring, as well as any other crucial details for the activity.
  • At the event, hosts MUST record the clan members who attended (taking attendance).
  • After the event, hosts must post a recap with attendance
  •
  • Spurs:
  •
  • Spurs are unplanned events that require at least 5 people and have to go on for at least 20 minutes.
  • Only one spur counts towards an activity check in any given 2 week period.
  •
  • Scheduled events are events that are entered onto the Events Schedule for the current week with at least 24 hour notice. Scheduled events for the day are shown at the top of the forums on the global messages. You must also follow all rules shown under the “Hosting” section found above.
  •
  • The CSE is a special event hosted by council. These are meant to the be biggest events, the most hyped, and as such, the most important events people should be trying to attend.
  • These are the events everyone in the clan should be trying to attend, regardless of personal preference. They do not happen often, so members will not be expected to operate outside of their comfort zone (if the given event isn't to their liking) too frequently. CSE is clan vernacular for important events everyone should make an effort to attend.
  •
  • NOTE: Not EVERY event hosted by a council member is a CSE. A CSE is a specific event that is backed by the full might of council, and will be specifically designated
  •
  • Council Hosted Event (CSE) = 3 points
  • Member Hosted Event = 2 points
  • Spur Event = 1 point (maximum of two each month)
  •
  • Event recaps are posted in the Event Recap forum.
  • Recaps must show the attendance of every member who attended the event. Please use their RUNESCAPE name, and if recently changed include their previously known name as well.
  • For Example:
  • Attendance:
  • xHerokagex (xHero Girlx)

  • How to be removed: Step down, be impeached
  •
  • Impeachment Process:
Clan members can initiate the impeachment process by approaching a Council member. Said clan member presents their case to the council member. The council member will then confer with the other Council members. If they are all in agreement that impeachment is justified, they put up a clan vote in the Knights Square forum. Posting can be restricted from the post at the discretion of the council members. With a 66.66% (2/3) vote, the leader in question can be removed. After the vote, it is the duty of the admin to set the leader back to his or her appropriate rank (knight/kotr). Council can opt to elect a new leader, but this is not necessary if the current leadership is adequate. New leaders should ONLY be chosen if the person merits it. No one should be elected out of desperation.

  • Wars are not mandatory to attend, though they are heavily advertised given that the clan's reputation is on the line. All war related issues and decisions fall under the authority of the Leader, with one key exception, official wars (see #2 below)
  •
  • We differentiate between the different modes of warring. Fun wars are un-offical wars mainly for practise purpose, these will still require Council/Leader permission to set up. These wars will not be used or posted on fan websites.
  •
  • Official wars are wars that the whole clan is mobilized for. In this case, council gets involved and helps to push the war in attempt to achieve maximum turnout. These wars necessitate our full effort, and as such, have a much bigger impact on the clan atmosphere. A loss when attempting a full effort stings much more than a practice war where no one really cared about the outcome, and conversely a victory in these cases is that much more powerful. These wars, given their higher impact, require Council and Leaders to take the charge in arranging these.

  • Alliances have changed over the years. In this clan's beginnings, we sought alliances as a matter of necessity. They were vital towards being able to operate as a clan given the frequency of wars and attacks from other clans. Many years later, things have changed. We now hold the policy of choosing alliances based on how well we connect with other clans. All of our current allies we have held for over 5 years+, in the case of TMRD, we have been their ally since the very beginning.
  •
  • Our allies are currently The Mighty Red Dragons (TMRD) and The Gladiatorz (Gladz),
  • Both of their websites can be reached by the links in the "About Us" box on the board index page. To gain allied access to their forums, post an allied app and pm the LINK to the app to a leader for the vouch.
  • We are currently not accepting any official alliances, however clans are free to be friendly with our members.
  •
  • Voting in Clan Jaguar takes place for a number of elected positions, and even comes into play in regards to some appointed positions. The margin of victory scales with the importance of the vote.
  •
  • Getting council requires a majority vote, Knight + vote on candidates during election time.
  • Attaining membership through trial requires passing activity check and a majority vote by Knight+.
  • Getting a Events Team or Recruitment team role requires a majority vote by council during election time.
  • A leader putting forth a poll as to whether he/she should retain his/her role can implement a margin of 66.66% (2/3) (66.66% (2/3) must vote yes for the leader to keep the job). The margin of victory required will be posted in the topic if it deviates from the norm.

  2. There will be no racist comments made in the CC.
  3. Arguing is not allowed. Anybody arguing in the CC will be asked to take it to PM, stop, or take it to another Clan Chat. If you are arguing you will get 1 warning from a Leader/Council to cease. If you do not stop immediately you will be kicked from the chat for 1 hour. Note, there is a difference between arguing and debate and it is left up to the CC mods to discern which is taking place.

  4. The suggestions and complaints forum is the main vehicle through which members can initiate changes. Leaders and council strive to come up with new ideas, but members need to do their part as well. Anyone with posting rights is welcome to post a suggestion. In stark contrast to voting threads, debate is heavily encouraged in these threads so as to come up with the best ideas possible. When the suggestions threads wind down, they are brought to council and are opened for discussion. Council will then make a decision one way or another, and inform the clan of this decision.

    6. It is acknowledged that some of these are highly subjective, and as such, will only be enforced if a significant portion of the CC is going to be okay with it. Disobeying any of the preceding stipulations will result in removal from the CC and potential action from Council.
